Beta Barium Borate - BBO is a nonlinear optical crystal with combination of a number of unique features: wide transparency region, broad phase-matching range, large nonlinear coefficient, high damage threshold.
LBO is a nonlinear optical crystal with combination of a number of unique features: wide transparency region, Broad Type 1 and Type 2 non-critical phase-matching (NCPM) range, small walk-off angle, high damage threshold.
CLBO is the crystal of choice for harmonic generation in the UV range with a transmission cut-off edge reaching 180 nm. Compared to BBO it features larger spectral and temperature acceptance, better angle tolerance, and a smaller walk-off angle.
Due to their unique features, optical nonlinear IR crystals like ZnGeP2, AgGaSe2, AgGaS2, GaSe have gained tremendous interest for the middle and deep infrared applications. The IR crystals have large effective optical nonlinearity.
