F-theta lenses are specialized scan lenses used in laser systems, particularly for applications requiring precise laser beam positioning over a flat field. Our new UVFS F-theta lens EOFTh-254-1030-D154-FS includes 4 lenses plus protective window and is optimized for use with high-energy CW or high repetition rate femtosecond lasers.

Key Features:

Large Flat Field Scanning area: 170x170mm

High Damage Threshold AR coatings:

>10MW/cm2 CW @1070nm

>0.5J/cm² 200fs 1kHz @1030nm

>30J/cm² 10ns 100Hz 1064nm

Low reflection and low absorption:

Reflection per surface <0.2% at 1000-1080nm AOI=0°-35°

Total transmission >97%

Absorption <5ppm

Maximum telecentricity: <12°

Applications of High-Power F-Theta Lenses

These lenses are essential in laser systems where precision, speed, and power handling are critical:

  1. Laser Marking and Engraving:
    • Metals, plastics, ceramics, and glass.
    • Used in automotive, electronics, and medical device industries.
  2. Laser Cutting and Drilling:
    • Thin metals, polymers, and composite materials.
    • Ideal for micro-machining and PCB fabrication.
  3. Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing):
    • Powder bed fusion and selective laser sintering (SLS).
    • Ensures accurate layer-by-layer laser scanning.
  4. Laser Welding:
    • High-speed, high-precision welding of small components.
  5. Surface Texturing and Ablation:
    • Creating micro-patterns for functional surfaces (e.g., anti-reflective, hydrophobic).
  6. Semiconductor and Display Manufacturing:
    • Laser annealing, dicing, and patterning.
